BEST FOOD IN MARRAKECH-DAR NAJAT'S KITCHEN

BEST FOOD IN MARRAKECH-DAR NAJAT'S KITCHEN

“Fantastic Food with a great atmosphere”
We had the pleasure of eating at Dar Najat's Kitchen in December, the food was simply the best we had in our weeks stay in Morocco.

The cuisine is traditional Moroccan, we had the selection of mixed vegatables for the starter, it came with four different dishes and we could not believe how much food was given to us, the portions were massive and really filling. We had the kefta tagine for the main, it was sublime, it had all the tradtional tastes to it and tasted like home cooked food, absolutely delicious. We had the chocolate cake for desert, again it was a massive portion but was so nice it just had to be eaten.....

The cost of our meal was very reasonable, we felt like we had excellent value for money and would highly recommend you visit Dar Najat's Kitchen if you are in Marrakech.

MARRAKECH BEST OF- RIAD DAR NAJAT

“ASTONISHINGLY GOOD RIAD WITH A STUPENDOUS LEVEL OF PERSONAL SERVICE”
My wife and I wanted a short break during our Marrakech holiday and decided to book a two night stay in Riad bab Essaouira. This turned out to be a fantastic decision and we wish that we had arranged more time in Essaouira. The riad is located in the middle of the old medina, some 5 min away from the beach, positioned in a quite side street; there was little noise in the daytime and absolutely none at night. We had booked the room at the top of the house which comprised of a large double bed, on-suite WC/shower, sitting area, and included a large flat screen TV, it also had its own small private terrace with a couple of sun lounges. There is an additional larger roof terrace with surrounding sofas. The riad contains four floors with rooms on levels 1, 2 and 4 with a kitchen and sitting/dining area on level 3 (There is also a kitchen on the ground floor). All rooms in the Riad bab Essaouira are superb, but for a family or small group requiring perhaps three rooms it would be a dream. We are certainly considering this option for our next visit.
This house is typical of an old medina converted establishment, the building being tall and narrow, so you need to be able to climb a number of stairs to access your room, but the climb is worth it. The standard of cleanliness and the quality of the décor was first class and the level of service provided by the staff (Siad in particular) was outstanding, they just couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was served efficiently and excellent in quality and quantity. We constantly felt that it was a privilege to be a quest. The location of the riad is ideal for everything, from restaurants, bars, markets, beach, and the fishing port, although you must appreciate that it is within the city walls and so cars/trucks are excluded (Nearest car park is at the port, approximately 2-3 minutes walk).

Essaouira (Old city only. I cannot comment on the new city development) is a charming venue with an extensive souk, large sandy beach and a fantastic old active fishing port. If you like seafood, as we do, it is heaven! The quality of the seafood is superb, taken straight from the boats as they arrive and served as you request it. If seafood is not your choice then there are plenty of restaurants serving every other type of food you can imagine. Bars are plentiful where you can sit drinking your soft drink or tea/coffee for as long as you wish without hassle.
There are numerous sporting/leisure activities available, with windsurfing being the most popular.

It is our view that if you are looking for a relaxing break in a fabulous riad with unbelievably good food and service then Riad bab Essaouira would be our recommendation.

Oliver's Riads-Riad Bab Essaouira & Riad Dar Najat

I recently spent 3 nights at the Dar Najat and simply put, it was awesome. Marakesh has an amazing pulse and once you have experienced the madness of the Medina, it's refreshing to return to your Riad and soak in the tranquility of your surroundings. Dar Najat was the perfect place to do so. They have a great rooftop deck from which to observe the city or to watch the stars at night with a cold beer in your hands. Oliver, the owner, has created the place with warmth, from the amazing staff, to the soft lighting at night, to the great music that fills your soul. And, to be honest, one of the best meals I had in Marakesh was the first night I was there when they produced a lamb in a prune sauce that was truly first class. Be sure to challenge Oliver in a game of backgammon if you are up for the challenge. Don't even hesitate about booking here. It's righteous. I will be back.

BEST OF ESSAOUIRA-RIAD BAB ESSAOUIRA

“Don't miss this Riad!”
have just returned from my fourth trip to Morocco, having stayed yet another time in Riad Bab Essaouira. This unique Riad is comfortable and clean and is conveniently situated in the centre of the medina. The rooms are on individual floors and include seating areas, separate bedroom and shower room.....like a small apartment. The roof terrace with comfortable sofas has views looking out across the whole of Essaouira....beautiful at night.
My stay included a huge breakfast of fresh orange juice, eggs, Morroccan style crepes, and a selection of croissants and coffee......all delicious! I was invited to join Oliver and Said and some other guests for a meal one evening. We had a great night and it was the best food that I have had during my stay in Morocco.
I am a single woman travelling alone, and Oliver and Said were very welcoming and made me feel totally relaxed and at ease in their company....and I love it there!!

I cannot say enough good things about Dar Najat and the amazing people who work there! It was really one of the best highlights of our trip to Morocco. I have been working in the hospitality management industry for nearly 20 years, and I am very picky when it comes to service. Dar Najat exceeded ALL of my expectations. The owner, Oliver, and the staff (Amin, Said, Tarek, and the ladies who worked the kitchen and back of the house) were so warm and welcoming. It felt like we were staying over a friend’s house. In addition to the outstanding service and care they give you, the place was so beautiful and relaxing (and quite), and located in the heart of the old medina. After spending a few hours in the hustle and bustle of the market and the center (Jemma El Fna), we looked forward to walking back to the Riad for a quite, relaxing break, and a glass of wine or their excellent Mint tea. We also decided to have dinner there one evening…and I cannot say enough about how tasty that dinner was. Their breakfast was also awesome and they were willing to serve it to you whenever you decided to wake up. Stop looking and just book your stay at this Riad. You won’t regret it.

“My favourite place to stay in Marrakech!!”
Once again I have returned to stay at Riad Dar Najat and had a lovely welcome from Oliver Amin and all the staff. It's a great place to stay in Marrakech....very central, but also quiet enough to come back to and relax after the hustle and bustle of Jemma El Fna. The Riad is beautifully designed with an African theme....the rooms are clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a good shower with constant hot water. My stay included a fantastic breakfast of fresh orange juice, a selection of bread, pastries and crepes, jams and coffee all served on the spacious roof terrace.
So.....excellent accommodation, food, service, music, and most of all excellent company from Oliver and all his staff. I love staying there, and hope to return again soon!!

Oliver's Riads-Riad Bab Essaouira & Riad Dar Najat

This riad is in the heart of the medina of Essaouira. It is a 5 minute walk away from the main beach and port area. The riad is located in a quite area of the medina, there is no noise around the riad at all, it is pure bliss.

The riad has been tastefully decorated and everything was like new. I had a warm welcome to the riad and was shown not only the riad but the surrounding area. The bedroom had a large double bed in it and also a flat screen tv. There was free WIFI throughout the riad. The bathroom had a shower which was so powerful, it really woke me up in the morning. There was a relaxation areas all over the riad where you can sit and chillout, there are two terraces, once has a few sun loungers on it, the top terrace has large leather sofas on it that you can chill out on in the daytime or night. In the daytime you get a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean, in the evening you get a gentle breeze blowing through the terrace, it really can't be beaten.

If you want to stay in Essaouira, I would recommend this riad to you, it is clean, in a great location and you will be well looked after by the staff.

"DAR NAJAT KITCHEN"

We stayed in Dar Najat for 5 nights and it was fantastic! It was such a serene and relaxing place to go back to at the end of a busy day sightseeing. The food was also lovely and all of the staff including the owner Olivier going out of his way to help you.
he took so much of the stress out of our stay by giving recommendations on where to go like that great lebanese restaurant azar, making bookings, arranging transport and giving directions.
It's also well placed as it's within a short walk to most of the main sites.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else if we go back to Marrakech!

Oliver"s Riads-Boutique Riad Dar Najat

My first visit to Marrakech and I'm already working out when I can go back!As I am living in rabat for 2 years; We had just the best weekend and dar najat made it perfect. The riad is beautiful, homely, comfortable, friendly and romantic , I was there with 4 other girls on a girls weekend away so that is saying something! Next time I'll take my husband. The rooms are beautiful, not over the top just simple with a touch of glamour. The roof terraces are just perfect for eating lunch, supper or just soaking up the gorgeous warm autumn sun with a book. We felt we used every inch of the riad, normally I stay in a hotel room, eat breakfast and head out but at Dar najat you want to just hang out however we did manage the odd shopping spree a couple of times a day ! There are wonderful restaurants and bars and just so much to do. And one last thing the staff atDar najat are brilliant, they made our weekend perfect.

Oliver"s Riads-Boutique Riad Dar Najat

Dar Najat has many things going for it: ease of access, excellent food, a wonderful rooftop views that surpass any other that we have stayed in.

Much care and attention to detail has been given by Olivier the owner throughout the riad and it looks like there has been no expense spared with regard to the décor and furnishings. Antiques, african painting and quality lanterns abound along with Moroccan rugs and cushions, and the place has a really luxurious feel to it.

Our room was large with a huge bed, stunning bathroom and TV! The inside shutters on the windows really blocked out the light (which was important to us) and we slept very well.

As the weather was warm and sunny we had breakfast on the roof terrace, which was a real treat. The breakfast was delicious including fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs and Moroccan breads, which was more than enough to set us up for the day.

We also ate at the riad for 2 nights and the food was exquisite and very well prepared. Several times before, we've found that food can be a let down at hotels and riads but not at Dar najat. It was well prepared, delicious and hot!

The views from the terrace are some of the best you'll get from a riad in Marrakech and we've stayed at several. Because of the open space , there are great views of the rooftops of Marrakech medina dominated by the nearby , Koutoubia minaret and the snow-dusted atlas Mountains.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying here. We are in Marrakech every couple of months and this has been the best place we have stayed in so far.

Oliver"s Riads-Boutique Riad Dar Najat

It is never easy travelling with an infant and initially we found some opposition from other Riads in Marrakech where our son wasn't welcome. Thank goodness Dar Najat was recommended to us.
This is a hidden gem. Located in the Medina about a 5min walk from the place jamael fnaa and the souks. The owner Olivier has done a wonderful job in this Riad. Outside is the hussle and bussle of a Morrocan Street but inside it couldn't be quieter or more tranquil. The Riad has been beautifully and tastfully decorated. Our room was very well proportioned and being on the ground floor excellent for our son.
However, what made Dar Najat so enjoyable for us was the wonderful staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. A family welcome is often a holiday cliche but Dar najat fullfilled this in every respect. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.
One pointer would be to accept the Riad's offer of an airport transfer. Unless you have the homing instincts of a cruise missile you will not find it. It's worth every penny.
